LVC Welcomes the Class of 2029, Reports Record EnrollmentÌýÌý

Âé¶¹ÆÆ½â opened its academic year as 452 first-year students and 49 transfer students moved onto campus, contributing to the largest full-time undergraduate enrollment in the College’s 160-year history. Ìý

With 1,674 total full-time undergraduates now enrolled, LVC sets a record driven by a student retention rate approaching 85 percent. Four hundred sixteen students are enrolled across the College’s graduate-degree programs.Ìý

 

LVC’s New Students At-a-GlanceÌý

  • Geographic reach: Students from 20 statesÌý
  • Athletic excellence: 200 student-athletes will compete across 26 teamsÌý
  • Creative spirit: 35 first-year and 2 transferÌýstudent musiciansÌýjoin the Pride of The Valley Marching Band (making a total of 130 members)
  • Academic breadth: Students will pursue majors spanning health professions, sciences, humanities, social sciences, arts, and business communicationsÌý

“Move-in Day is only second to Commencement among my favorite days of the year,” said President James M. MacLaren, Ph.D. “New and returning students bring with them a sense of opportunity and optimism. Our campus community is a place for students, faculty, and staff to connect and thrive together.”Ìý

MacLaren joined new LVC families for a barbecue lunch in the dining hall and greeted them across campus during Move-in Day. The excitement continues throughout Orientation Weekend with time-honored traditions and new opportunities.
