5050 Peer Helpers

Trained and supervised by our professional counselors, the 5050 Peer Helpers for 2026–27 are students Ashley Wisner ’27, Phoebe Gerges ’28, and Andie Soto ’28. They are available by email at 5050@lvc.edu or for appointments at the new Center for Counseling Services. for a full look at their schedule!

Students utilize one-on-one meetings privately with Peer Helpers to discuss such issues as long-distance relationships, academic concerns, and social anxiety.

Each Peer Helper is required to complete the following training: Title IX for reporting sexual assault (as such are mandated reporters); BraveZone training for sensitivity to the needs of LGBTQ+ students; and QPR training for suicide prevention.

Ashley Wisner ’27

Ashley is a psychology major. On campus, she is part of the Dutchman First, vice president of the outdoors club, and an active member of other clubs and organizations. She’s excited to be a 5050 this year and to be able to help other students feel supported and welcomed here on campus.

Phoebe Gerges

Phoebe Gerges ’28

Phoebe is a student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program with a music minor. She is an active member and leader of multiple clubs. She is also a member of the Honors Program and works at the Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery. She is excited to work with and help students!

Educational Outreach

Peer Helpers are available to provide educational programming to various student groups including RA’s floor meetings, Greek life, interest houses, and athletics by emailing 5050@lvc.edu to schedule. They are available to present on mental wellness, alcohol and drug education, sexual assault prevention, and suicide prevention. 5050 Peer Helpers attend most Counseling Services outreach events such as destress breaks and mental health screenings.
