LVC THRIVE Scholars Program

Transforming Hope, Resilience, Identity, Voice, & Engagement

Starting college is an exciting milestone, but it can also bring new challenges. The THRIVE Scholars Program is designed to help Pell Grant-eligible students make a successful transition to Â鶹Æƽâ by providing a welcoming community, personalized support, and opportunities to grow both inside and outside the classroom.

THRIVE is more than a program. It’s a community that helps students build confidence, create lasting connections, and develop the skills needed to succeed throughout college and beyond.

 

Why Join THRIVE?

As a THRIVE Scholar, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Build friendships with a small cohort of fellow first-year students.
  • Connect with a dedicated faculty or staff mentor.
  • Receive personalized support from the Culture, Community & Belonging (CCB) Center.

  • Explore leadership, career development, and campus involvement opportunities.

What You’ll Experience

Throughout your first year, you’ll participate in engaging experiences that help you feel connected and confident, including:

  • Monthly Scholar Success workshops
  • One-on-one check-ins and goal-setting meetings
  • Faculty and staff mentoring
  • Career exploration
  • Wellness and academic success sessions
  • Community engagement and service opportunities

 

Who Can Apply?

The THRIVE Scholars Program is open to a select group of incoming first-year students who are Pell Grant eligible and are excited to become active members of the Â鶹Æƽâ community.

My experience with the THRIVE program enabled me to learn about LVC’s resources as soon as I began my first year. THRIVE built a strong support system of both friends and mentors who helped me get acclimated to LVC life as a first-generation student. New students should consider this program to meet students from unique backgrounds and build a strong support system early in their academic career. These connections can go a long way in terms of friendships, professional development, mentorship, and more.
